When it comes to working in a traditional log home we always want to stay true to its natural beauty while giving it a modern face-lift. 

First visit with the clients determined that they wanted to increase functionality with their main bathroom and better utilize the space. 

Removing the contrasting white (and dated) 36” neo angle shower and fixtures to create a larger 60×36” shower that better suited the longer layout of the room. Moving the toilet to be opposite of the vanity created a better flow of the room. 

The clients had slate decorative tiles throughout their main level and wanted to incorporate it into their shower, we created a feature wall emphasizing the beauty of the slate tile creating a rock waterfall effect and complimenting it with Baril Zip thermostatic shower fixtures in a matte black finish. The beautiful warm hues of the natural log home determined that we would repurpose an old dresser that was in the family to a fully functional 60” vanity where it was painted in a dark grey tone. Atop of the vanity laid a black quartz countertop with a handmade ceramic vessel sink and pairing it with a matte black Baril Zip vessel faucet. 

The lighting was enhanced with ceiling lights, hanging pendants and recessed lighting to completely open the space and allow the natural beauty of the log walls and ceiling to glimmer and brighten the space instead of darken it.  

Working with the ever-shifting log home posed a challenge where we had to create floating walls to make sure that they have the appropriate tolerance for movement. 

The new modern look to this traditional style home is adored by the clients and will be timeless for decades to come.
